04|13|09 US Tour: The Factory – Rochester, MI (April 7th, Day 5)
Rochester, Michigan, is a cute little town right outside of Detroit. We were playing a venue there called The Factory, which was a really, really cool venue. The performance area was small room, with hard-wood floors and high ceilings. The place just a great vibe about it, helped, not in small part, by having a bright yellow garage door as the entrance!

04|11|09 US Tour: Photoblog – Chicago, IL (April 6th, Day 4)
So after the Sunday night show in Chicago, Evan and I were glad to have a day off. We spent most of the day cruising around downtown Chicago, taking the train around the loop, walking down to Navy Pier, going shopping on Michigan Ave. (nicknamed the “magnificent mile”), and having Potbellys for lunch. Chicago is a beautiful city. I used to live there for about 5 1/2 years, whilst studying music composition and philosophy at Northwestern University. I wasn’t always happy in Chicago, but I have a huge amount of nostalgic love for the town and the life I lead there. Perhaps, then, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise to me that I was ever-so-slightly starting to tear up as we slowly weaved our way through the breathtaking skyscrapers to the sound of Eluvium’s Copia. People always ask us “so where do you play next?” Whenever we would mention Madison, Wisconsin, everyone told us “you’ll love Madison!”, followed by an epic story of drinking and partying. 04|08|09 US Tour: Simple Days – Bloomington, IL (April 3rd, Day 1)
Bloomington, Illinois, is quite charming really. A tad sleepy, a few small colleges in the area, with its fair share of American suburbanite residents. Apparently, Bloomington is host to a reputable Shakespeare festival, was ranked by Forbes as one of the 25 smartest communities in the United States, based on the college degrees of its citizens, has some choice golf courses, and it lies in one the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US. Evan and I arrived about an hour early in Bloomington, but since Mapquest totally stuffed us on the actual street address, we were quite glad we had a few extra minutes to find the house we were playing at (Mapquest placed the house a few blocks away from where it actually stood, confusing the living daylights out of us). Tomorrow night, Tuesday 24th of March, we’re playing a short set at the India House in New Orleans. The show is free, and goes from 7.30-8.30PM. If you have friends who live in NOLA let them know to come down. Show is free, the India House is totally rad, and there’s going to be southern-style BBQ, as well! 03|17|09 Driving to SXSW (Indiana to Arkansas)
Evan and I began our trip to SXSW in Austin, Texas today. We started our trip from Lowell, IN and drove a little over 14 hours to Mount Ida in Arkansas. Check out the massive route on Mapquest! We are taking a bit of a detour so we can drive the 55 miles Talimena Scenic Drive from Arkansas to Oklahoma, which I read was quite beautiful. Fingers crossed it was worth it! :)
