What's up with your name, and how is it pronounced, anyways?"The Enright House" is a reference to Ayn Rand's novel "The Fountainhead". It is pronounced (...you would be astonished how many people get this wrong!) not like en garde!: en garde | än 'gärd; ä n | But rather: en-rap-ture | en'rap ch er | I'm confused. Is The Enright House a solo project or a band?Hard to say... we're still all a bit confused about this, too. The Enright House took on shape during the summer of 2001, when, oppressed by Chicago's summer humidity and heat, I (Mark) decided to return to experimental electro-accoustic classical composition. Later, I decided to do pop instead. Even later, I changed my mind again. And then back. Then forth. Then... forth again? After eventually getting my undergraduate degree in philosophy (long story...), I moved to New Zealand, and during the last months of 2006 decided to start a band in order to perform my music live. Now, after the band has been going for about a year, The Enright House are still basically two seperate entities... a) my solo recording project, and b) a live band which creatively re-invents these songs for the purpose of live performance. However, things are definately not as seperate now as the were at the start, and so what happens in the future none of us really know. We'll just keep doing what we are doing and see what happens in the near and distant future and, in the interim, keep stumbling clumsily over questions like these. Where do you stand on podcasting, blogging, and internet radio? We strongly support podcasting, blogging and internet radio, as we believe in the potential of a democratic and radically decentralized media to help strengthen our joint human culture, by stemming the tide of force-fed homogonization. If you would like to include any of our music in your podcasts or on your weblog, feel free to download and use any of the songs or videos that are available as downloads from our website. If you would like to use a song that is not available as a free download from this site, just get in touch with us at info(at)theenrighthouse(dot)com and we'll be happy to help you out. Can I use your music for a film/tv-show I'm working on?Email us at info(at)theenrighthouse(dot)com to obtain the rights to use our music in your project. All rights can be cleared instantly and quickly, and if your project is not-for-profit then we'll be happy to let you use our music free of charge. We almost always feel very flatted to be asked and will very likely say yes, but we still ask that you get in touch with us first, as we would like to make sure your intended use doesn't entirely annihilate our basic aesthetic vision. How can I receive a complimentary copy of your album?Would you like a free copy of our album, A Maze And Amazement, in order to review it or to play our music more regularly on your radio show or podcast? No problem. If you run a music-related weblog, write for print media, host a radio show, make podcasts etc. and would like to own a copy of the album, please let us know, and we will be more than happy either to send you a copy of the album, or make available to you a high quality 320 bitrate version of the album (including full artwork and credits) for your personal download.
